I believe the purpose of education has three essential elements: to instill in students the love of learning, to equip students with the educational “tools” necessary to pursue learning successfully, and to provide students the guidance and support necessary for learning. As an educator, I seek to model the love of learning by continuing to enthusiastically explore and discover the universe around me each day. I also seek to demonstrate and use critical thinking skills. And for each student, I look to see the world and understand it through their eyes so I can help to reveal that which is hidden from them. A student with a love of learning, equipped to pursue that love, and supported in that pursuit can only meet with success.
